If NBA teams were to write a letter to Santa, what would they ask for for Christmas?
Amid the holiday buzz, it's easy to forget that NBA teams are also making wish lists in hopes that Santa Claus (or circumstance) might help them out. Here is a look at what NBA teams across the league might write in their Christmas wish lists to Santa if given the opportunity. Atlanta Hawks - This young team is off to a respectable start, but is in dire need of a veteran point guard, as well as a center. Rookie Al Horford has been collecting boards, but they still need a defensive presence in the middle. Boston Celtics - The Celtics are off to a sensational start, but if there was one thing that could stop them, it would be injuries. Their star trio, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen are all past 30 years old. Charlotte Bobcats - The Bobcats should be please with their record considering Gerald Wallace, the team's leading scorer, is off to a slow start like last year, and newly acquired Jason Richardson has yet to find his groove. The Bobcats two main wishes are to stay healthy and get their offense going. Chicago Bulls - Yeesh. What aren't the Bulls wishing for. They're off to an abysmal start and are still in desparate need of a low post presence. Cleveland Cavaliers - The Cavs are constantly wishing for some help for LeBron James. Dallas Mavericks - The Mavs won't have a chance to realize their Christmas wishes until the 2008 playoffs. They'll look to avenge their disappointing finish in 2007. Denver Nuggets - Health is their biggest wish for Christmas. Allen Iverson is past thirty and Kenyon Martin and Nene have already hit some injury walls. Detroit Pistons - Their Christmas wish is for their youngsters, as in Jason Maxiell and Amir Johnson, to step things up and bring more to the table. Golden State Warriors - Health for Baron Davis. That's their biggest concern. If he goes down for any extended length of time, the Warriors are screwed. Houston Rockets - Their wish is for some consistency at point guard...and for the health of Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady, of course. Indiana Pacers - Their Christmas wish is for Danny Granger and Mike Dunleavy to continue playing at such a high level, and for Jermaine O'Neal to stay healthy. LA Clippers - Their Christmas wish is for Elton Brand to return as soon as possible. LA Lakers - The Lakers want to keep Kobe Bryant, as well as for Andrew Bynum to continue developing as well as he has this season. Memphis Grizzlies - Memphis would love to see Pau Gasol pick things up, as well as more of its young prospects to step things up and play more consistently. Miami Heat - For Shaquille O'Neal to get into shape quickly, and for Dwayne Wade to stay healthy. Milwaukee Bucks - They want what they didn't have last season - health. Minnesota Timberwolves - The Wolves want nothing more than to watch its young talent grow up...preferably sooner rather than later. New Orleans Hornets - Like the Bucks, New Orleans wishes for a healthy roster after enduring countless injuries last season. New Jersey Nets - They'd like for Kidd to play more like the Kidd of old and to cut down his turnovers, for Vince Carter to shake off whatever's ailing him, for Richard Jefferson to stay healthy, and for some consistency at the power forward spot. New York Knicks - They'd like a lower payroll and some toughness from their starting center. Orlando Magic - The Magic want nothing more for Christmas than to continue their early success. Philadelphia 76ers - The Sixers want Louis Williams to pan out and for Andre Iguodala to stop being such a disappointment. Phoenix Suns - They want some interior defense, or maybe a pass past the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Playoffs. Portland Trail Blazers - They want LaMarcus Aldridge to blossom into a star. Sacramento Kings - The Kings want some inside productivity, whether it come from the old Brad Miller, the young Spencer Hawes, or somebody else. San Antonio Spurs - San Antonio wants another championship. They know that in order to do that, they'll need to ensure that Tim Duncan's healthy and peaking at the right time late in the season. Seattle Supersonics - They're wishing for a prayer. Toronto Raptors - They'd like more rebounding from Chris Bosh, and for Andrea Bargnani to step things up. Utah Jazz - Utah wishes for continued productivity from shooting guard Ronnie Brewer, as well as perhaps Mehmet Okur and Paul Millsap to step things up. Washington Wizards - The Wizards want Gilbert Arenas back, but since that won't happen, they'll want some of the team's younger prospects to step up and fill the gaps.
