After two solid months of basketball, it's becoming clearer which NBA teams are likely to finish atop the league.

The 2007-2008 NBA season has been full of some surprises. Some of the top headlines include the Knicks' persistent struggle to turn things around; the early success of the Boston Celtics; trade rumors that hint at stars like Kobe Bryant being dealt; rookie studs and duds; and much more. What is certain is that there are many more games to be played.

Here's a look at which teams lead the pack in the race toward the 2007 NBA Title.

November 2007 NBA Power Rankings

  1. Boston Celtics (24-3) – The biggest concern is whether or not Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen will have enough left in the tank after averaging 35, 38 and 38 minutes per game. The Celtics outscore its opponents by nearly 14 ppg.
  2. Detroit Pistons (21-7) - The Pistons have a better bench with the emergence of Jason Maxiell and the additions of Walter Herrman and Primoz Brezec. They've also won six straight.
  3. San Antonio Spurs (20-7) -- The Spurs' defense is questionable right now. Plus, they have a losing road record. On top of that, Tim Duncan's health is a concern. Yet, they still have a great record.
  4. Phoenix Suns (20-9) -- Phoenix hasn't really addressed its major concerns from last season, but they're still good enough to be placed high on this list.
  5. Dallas Mavericks (19-11) -- The Mavericks are starting to play more as a team. Dirk Nowitzki continues to defer more of the offense to Josh Howard to save himself for the playoffs.
  6. Los Angeles Lakers (18-10) -- The Lakers are red hot, winning three in a row and eight of its last ten games. Part of the reason for the team's recent success has been the stellar play of prospect center Andrew Bynum.
  7. New Orleans Hornets (18-10) - Chris Paul has this team playing very well. They seem to be flying under the radar, but with Paul and Peja Stojakovic on the perimeter and Tyson Chandler and David West in the middle, they could be a dangerous team come the playoffs.
  8. Orlando Magic (19-11) – Starting to fall back to reality a bit after a terrific start. They've only won three of its last ten games.
  9. Portland Trail Blazers (16-12) -- The Blazers are red hot, winning eleven straight! In addition, second leading scorer, LaMarcus Aldridge, missed several of those games. They're simply finding ways to win.
  10. Denver Nuggets (17-11) – Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony seem to be co-existing nicely. Nene and Kenyon Martin are trying to get back into the lineup.
