Find out which NBA players have increased their fantasy value and which NBA players have decreased their value based on off season player movement.
Amidst all the summer activity around the NBA, fantasy basketball owners are tasked with assessing the fluctuation of players' fantasy stock. While certain players might see their stock rise as they move to better circumstances, others see their stock lessen.
Here's a list of the biggest fantasy basketball winners and losers as a result of 2007 summer transactions:
Winners
- Kevin Durant, Seattle Supersonics - With Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis settling in the Eastern Conference, Durant's the man in Seattle. However, that also means he has little help and might feel some negative backlash from all the attention.
- Monta Ellis, Golden State Warriors - With Jason Richardson dealt, Monta Ellis will again be a key part of the Warriors' backcourt attack.
- Randy Foye, Minnesota Timberwolves - Trading Mike James and moving Kevin Garnett means that Foye will be more of a central part of the Wolves' offense next year.
- Pau Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies - With the addition of Mike Conley and Gasol's best friend, Juan Carlos Navarro, Gasol has more passers to throw him the ball and take the pressure off.
- Rashard Lewis, Orlando Magic - Lewis will be the number one scoring option on the Magic and will have a top-flight rebounder with him in Dwight Howard.
- Jamaal Magloire, New Jersey Nets - Magloire still has some game left in him and in New Jersey he'll get opportunity to play minutes and will have Jason Kidd passing him the ball.
- Rajon Rondo, Boston Celtics - He goes from being the backup point guard on a bad team to the starting point guard with Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to pass to.
- Wally Szczerbiak, Seattle Supersonics - Though injuries will be a major concern again, the Sonics will rely heavily on Szczerbiak's offense when he's healthy.
- Tim Thomas, LA Clippers - With Elton Brand likely out for several months, Tim Thomas will play more minutes at the power forward position.
- Brandan Wright, Golden State Warriors - Unfortunately, Wright probably won't get much opportunity to develop his low post game under Don Nelson's system, but he will get a chance to showcase his athleticism right away.
Losers
- Ray Allen, Boston Celtics - He goes from being the number one option to being the third option.
- Atlanta Hawks forwards - Until ownership gets its act together and stops battling each other, it looks like the Hawks will stick with the lineup they have. They had a logjam at the forward spots last year and added Al Horford to that. It's getting crowded.
- Steve Blake, Portland Trail Blazers - He goes from being the main guy running the offense in Denver to having to jockey for minutes with Jarrett Jack and others.
- Elton Brand, LA Clippers - Surgery on his achilles means he'll be out for several months at the start of the season.
- Eddy Curry, New York Knicks - Zach Randolph is not the ideal fit with Curry.
- Al Jefferson, Minnesota Timberwolves - Now he's going to have to face the bigger forwards of the Western Conference on a regular basis.
- Mikki Moore, Sacramento Kings - He had a breakout season because Jason Kidd was spoon feeding him his stats. He gets a bigger paycheck by signing with Sacto, but expect his numbers to return to normal.
- Jermaine O'Neal, Indiana Pacers - He was extremely unmotivated playing for a bad Pacer team at the end of last season. One, he hasn't been traded yet. Two, the Pacers haven't made a single significant move.
- Paul Pierce, Boston Celtics - He'll have to share some of his touches with two other stars.
- Joel Przybilla, Portland Trail Blazers - Injuries aside, he'll be utilized less with Greg Oden on the roster.
- Zach Randolph, New York Knicks - Things are getting kind of clustered in the paint for the Knicks.
- Jason Richardson, Charlotte Bobcats - Even though he'll be the first option in Charlotte, he loses a bit of an edge by not playing in Don Nelson's freestyle offense.
- Charlie Villanueva, Milwaukee Bucks - If they end up keeping Yi Jianlian, Charlie V will have to work harder to earn his minutes.
- Gerald Wallace, Charlotte Bobcats - With Jason Richardson as a new teammate, Wallace won't be relied on as much for his offense.
