Patience Goes a Long Way Kobe

The saga continues between Kobe and the Lakers

As any avid Lakers fan, the tension and suspense must be terrible, but what would happen in Lakerland if Jerry Buss lets the best player in the NBA walk out the door

Chaos! The situation in Los Angeles right now can only be described with one word, chaos! How did this get out of hand so fast? How did no one see this coming? Where is the loyalty? Why is Kobe Bryant so mad?

If I were Kobe Bryant, I would have no idea what to do if I was in his situation, being lied to by Jerry Buss about the future, my youth and best playing years slipping through my fingers without a contending team. Clueless, I would be absolutely clueless, but I would have some faith, some sense of hope instead of ripping everyones heads and dropping the F bomb after every word describing the decision makers and teammates like in the cell phone video that just came out. Have some class, have some pride, get some dignity.

Do you think Michael Jordan would be going off like this? Do you think he would give up this easily? No way, no how! If you are going to be compared to the greatest player of our time, then maybe you should learn from example. Back before the championships, the MVPs, the fame and recognition of best player ever to play the game, Jordan was in the exact same situation as Kobe Bryant is today, surround by role players and bench warmers. Then came Scottie Pippen, ultimate complement to Jordan's game and who knows if he would have won anything without him. Horace Grant and Dennis Rodman followed over time. Solid, championship quality players who were awesome performers with their craft. Rodman grabbing every board, diving for loose balls. Grant hitting the sweet 15 foot jumper and guarding the big bodies like Tim Duncan today. Pippen, tireless defender and unbeleiveable scoring threat when needed. The Bulls were stacked and championship bound and it all result in six championship rings and complete domination of the 90's.

Moral of the story, patience, faith and a little bit of time can make all the difference. If you don't have those qualities or the ability to learn them, then you don't deserve to be a champion. Kobe Bryant is definitely the best player in the NBA in my opinion and the Lakers would be making a huge mistake in letting him go because they couldn't get a deal done, but you have got to have some faith. If Kobe wants to win so bad, if he wants better players around him then maybe he should man up and help the process instead of hurting it. If Kevin Garnett is trying to get out of Minnesota, Kobe should be chilling in a hotel there trying to convince Garnett to come to LA and not leave until he does.
