The NBA Power Rankings once again belong to the Dallas Mavericks, who are on yet another winning streak and maintain the best record in the NBA.

Weekly NBA Power Rankings

  1. Dallas Mavericks (39-9) – Dallas has won four straight games and is 25-2 in its last 27. Even Phoenix can't compete with this, giving the Mavericks the top spot in our NBA Power Rankings.
  2. Phoenix Suns (37-10) -- After a remarkable 17-game winning streak, the Suns have looked human again, recently losing to Utah, sans Carlos Boozer. Phoenix is still very good, but slips a notch in the NBA Power Rankings.
  3. Utah Jazz (31-17) -- The Jazz inch up a spot in our NBA rankings, due to stellar play in the absence of NBA MVP candidate Carlos Boozer. Deron Williams is proving to be one of the best point guards in the league and is carrying the Jazz.
  4. San Antonio Spurs (32-16) -- Just 5-5 in their last 10 games, the Spurs are still one of the best road teams in the NBA and are a solid number 4 in our NBA Power Rankings poll.
  5. Houston Rockets (29-17) -- Consistency is king in Suite101's NBA Power Rankings, and the Rockets are nothing but consistent. Constistently well-coached and consistently solid, despite being without star center Yao Ming.
  6. Los Angeles Lakers (29-19) -- Unlike the Houston Rockets, the Lakers may not be the most consistent team in our NBA rankings, but now that Lamar Odom is back healthy, Los Angeles is certainly deserving of the six spot in our NBA Power Rankings poll.
  7. Washington Wizards (27-19) -- If not for a recent loss to Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, Washington might be a spot higher in our NBA Power Rankings. With two All-Stars, Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler, Washington is certainly loaded and a strong contender to win the Eastern Conference.
  8. Chicago Bulls (28-20) -- The Bulls are 7-3 in their last 10 games and recently routed Dallas, our NBA Power Rankings leader.
  9. Detroit Pistons (27-18) -- Detroit is getting great minutes from newly-acquired Chris Webber, and the Pistons are back on top in the East, heading into a big game at Cleveland, prior to the All-Star break, that could shake up the NBA rankings.
  10. Toronto Raptors (24-23) -- Toronto may lack the record of the others in our NBA Power Rankings poll, but Toronto has won 7 of its last 10 and taken a solid lead in the Atlantic Division. All-Star Chris Bosh is playing great, and the Raptors look like a team on the rise.
